Lotion pumps, one of the most popular dispensing methods for viscous (thick liquid) products in the personal care and beauty industry, come in all shapes and sizes. When used as designed, pumps dispense the right amount of product time after time. But have you ever wondered what goes in Lotion pumps to makes it work? While there are hundreds of different designs in the market today, the basic principle is the same.
What Lotion pumps components consist of are actuator (pump head), closure, outer gasket, housing (interior components inside the housing: stem, piston, spring, ball), dip tube
The main testing action of Lotion pumps: air pressure times, pump output, down force, head opening torque, rebound speed, water intake index, etc.
When the actuator is pressed down manually, the piston moves to compress the spring and the upward air pressure draws the ball upwards, along with the product inside, into the dip tube and subsequently the chamber. When the actuator is released, the volume in the chamber increases and negative pressure is formed. The ball is opened under the negative pressure, and the liquid in the bottle enters the chamber. At this time, a certain amount of liquid is already stored in the valve body. When the handle is pressed again, the liquid stored in the valve body will be flushed upward and sprayed out through the nozzle.
Judging from the above working principle, the key to a good pump head is to pay special attention to the following areas:
1. Glass beads or steel balls under the spring.
2. Look at the sealing ring at the upper end of the valve body.
3. The matching of the pressing handle and the valve core.
4. The design of the nozzle depends on the atomization effect.
Therefore, the function of the general pump head also detects these four positions, and other appearance and coordination problems are detected conventionally.
